is professor of computer science at the University of Alberta, fellow of the Association for the Advancement of Artificial Intelligence, and elected fellow of the Royal Society of Canada. He has worked about half of his career in corporate research labs, including AT&T Labs and GTE Labs, and is a founder of the research startup Knoggin AI. Sutton is known for his contributions to reinforcement learning, including co-authoring an influential textbook; his publications have been cited more than 50,000 times. More than anything, he wants to understand what minds are by making them.
